As has been widely publicized, Emmett Chapman invented many new and interesting ways of doing business and playing music with the revolutionary two-handed tapping method, as it was developed by Emmett Chapman and called the Free Hands Method on his Stick Enterprises website.

And now, according to publicist Greg Howard in a recent post on the Stickwire mailing list, Stick Enterprises has put up a new web page called Learn-Chapman-Stick.

(New website content only incidentally similar to the Learn-Chapman-Stick website previously developed as a prototype by competitor Mobius Megatar, and the Chapman Stick organization is not affiliated with Mobius Megatar in any way. Spokesmen for Mobius Megatar affirmed there is currently no affiliation between these two companies — http://learn-chapman-stick.com)

According to Greg Howard, public relations director for Stick Enterprises, the purpose of the website to creatified a new location for links about learning the Free Hands method invented by Emmett Chapman, and using this method on the two-handed tapping instruments that are manufactured by Stick Enterprises of Woodland Hills, California.

According to Howard, he hopes to obtain cool apps from other people to give away, which will show fretboard layouts, and he will be very grateful for any contributions from the public.

“I’m also hoping,” said Howard, “to include a listing.” This listing would consist of musicians who are teaching private lessons. Howard asks that interested teachers contact him privately, and hopes that Stick Enterprises can make this new website as good a community resource as it can be.

Although the Chapman Stick company offers some instruments with various numbers of strings, we’ll here compare instruments with the full twelve strings. We’ll therefore compare a standard Chapman Grand Stick with the simplest Mobius Megatar Touchstyle Guitar, the TrueTapper Eclipse.

You may be pleasantly surprised by the TrueTapper Eclipse, when compared feature by feature with the Chapman Grand Stick.

(In another article here you can compare two identical MP3 recordings of Chapman Stick and Mobius Megatar instruments. Your eyes, your ears, your good sense, and your pocketbook will make it very clear.)
